Information & Referral
Consumers bring many inquiries to the Center that regard services we may not provide directly. The Center maintains strong links within a local and statewide network of resources to assist consumers seeking specific information or services that are more efficiently provided by other agencies. Issues regarding legal and medical services, job training, employment and housing, may be referred out to other agencies or resources in which the Center has sufficient confidence to serve the need of the consumer.
The Center’s role in providing our Information and Referral core service is to act as an advocate and resource on behalf of consumers. We urge consumers to follow up on their own when we provide information or a referral, since that is a significant part of the ethic of independent self-determination.
The Center uses the Internet to access information for everything from government benefits to medical supplies so that we can provide consumers with the most up to date information and resources available. Please refer to the list of links below for a large variety of local, state, and government websites.
